← Look familiar? If you haven't seen this then you're not looking hard enough, because it is everywhere. The image to my left is what's called a "QC Code." This code works much like a barcode and can lead to a specified site online. The site may contain anything you want - pricing, promotion, images, corporate homepage, etc. The benefits of having a QC code on your marketing material will go a long way.
Using a smartphone, customers have the ability to scan the QC code using their phone camera. Upon scanning, the phone is directed to a specified website where your marketing exists.
How can this help your business? Let's pretend you own a martini bar, a mildly successful bar with periodic live music. On your marketing material you offer a "2 for 1" drink special via QC Code. The QC leads to a page within your website. Upon landing on your page, the customer must enter an email address to send the coupon.
What happens now? Your customer instantly receives the 2 for 1 via email (on smartphone) and you save the email address for future contact. Follow-up is important. Any events, music, or drink specials need to be emailed to this customer. The odds of your customer returning for more entertainment is in your favor, and all it cost you was a free drink. |
